The United States military on Wednesday launched new air strikes against Iranian-backed armed groups in Yemen that it says are responsible for rocket and drone attacks on U.S. forces in both Iraq and Syria. The strikes, which began at 2:30 a.m. (1730 GMT) on Wednesday, targeted Houthi anti-ship missiles and facilities in the Red Sea that the U.S. military has accused of targeting shipping in the area.
